Post-Operation Care Instructions for Patients
Should you decide to go ahead with surgery with Dr Li, you will be provided specific instructions, however, this is a guideline for general care-taking measures.
Remember it is normal to feel a little dizzy and a little sleepy for several hours if you have had a general anaesthetic or sedation for your procedure.
For 24 hours after your procedure, you should NOT:
- DRIVE
- OPERATE DANGEROUS MACHINERY OR DOMESTIC APPLIANCES
- SIGN ANY IMPORTANT PAPERS OR LEGAL DOCUMENTS
- MAKE ANY SIGNIFICANT DECISIONS
- EXERCISE
- DRINK ALCOHOL OR TAKE ANY UNPRESCRIBED DRUGS OR MEDICATION
- TRAVEL UNACCOMPANIED ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT
- RETURN TO WORK
You should go home and rest and have a responsible adult stay with you overnight.
PLEASE FOLLOW YOUR DOCTORS SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS AND REPORT TO YOUR LOCAL DOCTOR OR SURGEON IF
- Heavy bleeding persists or bleeding starts again
- Vomiting persists
- Fever
- Any increase in pain
- Any increase in swelling at operative site
- Any other concerns
