Ovulation tracking and induction are ways to help to conceive naturally
Ovulation tracking
If you are looking for help to conceive naturally, a good first step is to try ovulation tracking.
What is ovulation tracking?
Ovulation tracking is a simple process which can help you identify and keep track of the days in your menstrual cycle which you are most fertile.
By us tracking your hormone cycle we can help to predict which days ovulation is going to take place. This process can involves a simple blood test and ultrasound to detect the surge of hormones which triggers ovulation. This allows us to advise you on the ideal time to have sex to give you the optimum chance of conceiving.
Why is ovulation tracking a good idea?
If you are trying to conceive naturally, the timing of when you and your partner have sex is very important and can increase your chances of getting pregnant. With us finding out when you are ovulating means we can find out the best time for you and your partner to have sex. For some people, it all depends on the timing of sex to be successful at conceiving.
How do I track ovulation?
- Temperature chart
- Test your urine using a kit
- A saliva testing kit
- Using an app that can be downloaded on your phone to track your periods
- In rare circumstances Dr Sharon Li may recommend having an ultrasound to monitor follicle growth.
I’m still not conceiving even though I’m ovulation tracking?
The success of ovulation tracking is different for each individual. If after tracking and timing sex effectively you are still unsuccessful, you could talk to Dr Sharon Li to discuss other possible options for you and your partner. If you have been trying for awhile you may want to talk to Dr Sharon about your fertility.
Ovulation Induction
Ovulation induction (OI) is a medical fertility treatment that helps to regulate ovulation or increases the number of eggs produced during a cycle which increases the chances of getting pregnant.
The process encourages eggs to develop in the ovaries and then release, which then leads to an increased chance of conception when using the optimum advised time to have sex (through ovulation tracking) or artificial insemination.
