What is Naturalis PRP?
Naturalis PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a regenerative procedure that may support vaginal and vulval tissue health by using your body’s own natural components. The treatment involves drawing a small sample of your blood, which is then processed in a centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma (PRP)—a concentration of growth factors naturally found in your blood.
This PRP is then gently injected into targeted areas, with the aim of supporting tissue quality, hydration, and elasticity over time. Some women seek this treatment to explore non-hormonal, non-surgical options for managing symptoms such as dryness, sensitivity changes, or discomfort.
The procedure takes approximately 45–60 minutes (including preparation) and is performed by Dr Sharon Li in a private clinical setting.
If you are considering Naturalis PRP in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, you are welcome to contact our clinic to book a consultation with Dr Li to discuss whether this treatment may be suitable for your needs.
What Can I Expect from the Procedure?
Naturalis PRP is performed by Dr Sharon Li following an individual consultation. On the day of the procedure, please shower using a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser before arriving.
A numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area approximately 30 minutes prior to the procedure to help minimise discomfort.
A small sample of your blood is then collected and processed in a centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma. This concentrated PRP is gently injected into selected vaginal or vulval areas, depending on your symptoms and treatment goals.
Please drink plenty of water before arriving to assist with blood collection and overall comfort.
The entire appointment, including numbing time and blood collection, generally takes around 45 to 60 minutes. Discomfort during the procedure is usually minimal, and most women resume light daily activities shortly afterwards.
How Might Naturalis PRP Work?
Platelet-rich plasma contains growth factors that may support the body’s natural repair processes. When injected into specific areas, PRP may assist in stimulating collagen production, supporting tissue hydration, and enhancing local circulation.
While some women report improvements in comfort and sensitivity, more clinical research is needed to confirm the effectiveness of PRP in this context.
How to Prepare for Your Appointment
To help ensure your comfort and support the effectiveness of the procedure, please follow these steps when preparing for your appointment:
-
Avoid booking the procedure during your menstrual period. Treatment should be scheduled at a time when you are not bleeding.
-
Shower on the day of your appointment using a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser.
-
Do not apply any creams, oils, or powders to the vulval area before your appointment.
-
Wear loose-fitting clothing for comfort after the procedure.
-
Eat and drink as normal unless otherwise instructed.
If you are feeling unwell or have any signs of infection (such as a urinary tract infection, vaginal discharge, or fever), please contact the clinic before your appointment so we can assess whether a reschedule is needed.
What Can I Expect After the Treatment?
After the procedure, you may experience mild swelling, tenderness, or spotting for 24–48 hours. These effects are generally temporary and resolve without the need for medication.
To support healing, we recommend avoiding the following for at least 48 hours:
Most women can return to light daily activities on the same day. A follow-up appointment may be suggested to review your progress.

A small volume of PRP (usually 3–5 mL) may be infused into the uterus via an IUI catheter, typically 48 hours before embryo transfer. This technique is being studied for its potential to support endometrial development.

PRP is also under investigation for possible use in women with reduced ovarian function. Research into its safety and efficacy is ongoing.
